The Apple Pie Tree
By Zoe Hall
This is a great book that tells the cycle of an apple tree.
It is a very simple read so it is good for little ones. I use this book with every time I do my apple unit.

Where is the Apple?
This book addresses the concept "under" having kids place small apple stickers under different objects.
I used the small chart apples stickers. Another added perk is to buy the apple stickers in different colors so the kids
have to choose what color they want.

Activities for Apple Die Cuts
If you work in a school, utilize your die cut machine! Otherwise, buy apple bulletin board accents-usually
come in a package of 36- at a teacher store. I use them for EVERYTHING! Put numbers on them and use them for articulation.
The number on the apple is the number of repetitions. Spread them out and put language cards under them. For every
correct answer, that is how many points are earned. You can also use them to teach positions.

Category Game
Use the apple die cuts for this game
Choose 2-3 categories you would like to address and print at least 5 pictures for each category. Glue
the pictures on the apples. Then gather baskets for each category and label each. Have the children label the
picture and place in the correct category. I made mine from Boardmaker which made it easier to find all the pictures
I needed.

Apple Snack Ideas
There are numerous ideas for snacks. But because none of us have a huge budget for food, I choose one
simple snack. I brought one snack (Apple Chips) that I knew kids had never had before. Then we graphed who
liked and who did not. Kids also made a list of things made from apples.
