Brown Bear, Brown Bear Here is another Eric Carle classic to help out with your theme! Read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" to your kids not only to teach colors but to address colors as describing words. Brown Bear Templates Where are my colors? For very young kids or very low language kids (like PPCD), I really like reading "Where Are My Colors?"  It is an interactive book published by Thinking Publications.  I think it is also sold by Super Duper.  It works on five basic colors-blue, red, yellow, green, orange. My Crayons Talk I also recommend "My Crayons Talk" by Patricia Hubbard.  I have not had a chance to read it but I hear it is a great book. Color Category Collage Pick 4 colors you want to address and have the kids cut out things those colors.  Instead of using magazines or books, use clipart or Boardmaker.  Then you can go around the table having the kids put them in small sentences ("The frog is green") A Great Site for Crafts and Other Fun Stuff   DLTK's Color Fun Candy Land What kid does not love to play this game?!  It is super easy which makes it great for all ages! I used it for my little ones who had to label the color and say it in a short sentence (ex-"I have blue.")  Older kids had to tell me something from a specific category of that color (if the child choose red, he had to tell me a fruit that color).  Artic kids had to produce their sound a determined number of times (1 color block=2 times; 2 color blocks=4). Mouse Paint This is a great little book to teach how the colors can mix and make new ones. Focus on a Color a Session If you have little guys who have a goal of learning colors, why not focus on a color a session or a week?  Take from the websites found on this page and build your units!  Color books are coming soon!
